Nick’s review published on Letterboxd:
Riveting & immensely beautiful, from top to bottom, Chang-Dong’s latest work is perfect in every sense of the word, Burning is masterfully crafted and shot from the hand of a brilliant artist at the top of his game. The three leads are extraordinary, particularly Yeun, who delivers his on-screen brilliance with the utmost subtlety. Additionally, the cinematography is simply... amazing, as some shots were legitimately jaw-dropping and the score was beautifully composed to elevate every scene with its presence.
While the burning is slow, the film makes every second count, ultimately rewarding the patient viewer. It’s the best film of the year thus far.
