5.) Carpenter always possessed a sneaky, subversive streak, but “They Live” is his all-out attack on greed, capitalism, and the moral downfall that came with the Reagan 80’s. Also, I failed to put together that the hilariously extended alleyway brawl between Rowdy Roddy Piper and Keith David served as the basis for one of “South Park’s” all-time great gags.
