How the hell did that Tarkin and Leia CGI get approved? Otherwise I enjoyed this movie: the build-up to the final battle could've been a bit quicker, the rebels' joy about the impending war was a bit weird, and I didn't think they had to kill the main characters at the end. But all that is OK.
I'm super curious about Edwards' original cut though. Is it less Star Wars-y? I don't need stuff like the C3PO/R2D2 cameo, I don't need the music to sound like John Williams. I already know I am in the Star Wars universe, it doesn't have to be spelled out.
I am a little bit less hyped about the prospect of a batch of younger directors getting to do 'their' take on Star Wars now. But we'll see, maybe the leadership will loosen up a little before the franchise starts feeling bland and lifeless.
