When gore and violence is overused it just becomes comedic and pointless. Special effect students makes a film to show what they can do. Thats great but you forgot everything else, like plot.
Thing is, the idea is awesome, it really is but im not sure about the execution of all three films. When i heard about the film years ago i thought to myself: Wow, sounds like a film made in the 70/80s. After seeing it and later the two sequels my thoughts simply are: The idea/plot is awesome but i kinda wish John Carpenter made these films instead 35 years ago.
