    Frozen Alive

    ★★

We start off with awesome jazzy saxophone theme music, so the first 4 minutes was pretty watchable. Frozen Alive was a low budget West German and British film with English speaking actors. It has many uninteresting and mundane melodramatic scenes and soap opera’ish plot elements.

Characters included an over-the-hill scientist guy, a hot lab assistant, a jealous alcoholic wife, a ‘dear’ young male friend of the alcoholic wife, and a smattering of other forgettable characters. The standard scientific research laboratory…

    A Night in Old Mexico

    ★★½

Gramps and grandson meet a singer/stripper in old Mexico. The stripper takes on the role of family psychiatrist and works on bridging the generation gap. This was the most unbelievable plot element in the whole movie, and there were many mind you. Other plot elements were just plain perplexing. By the time the third act rolls around the plot “twists” become super bad and laughable. Even the great Robert Duvall couldn’t save this movie.

The Wasp Woman is almost one sweet horror movie. I really wanted to like this movie because of the wonderfully campy story idea. It’s almost a good ‘bad movie’. However, the editing is horrible, the sound track is of poor quality, and the Wasp lady only appears a few times near the end in clunky edited scenes.

Miss Janice Starlin, the still beautiful cosmetics CEO, is concerned about her looks and the inevitable aging process. She is obsessed with recapturing…

Wow, this film is really good. Great story, extraordinary acting, and superb cinematography. The story is deep and philosophical. There is a lot to take in with this film.

There is no need to take you through the spectacular acting of Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, etc., because it’s all very very good. I love the acting and the story. The film is not really about crime, revenge, the investigation, or the violence. The film is about life,…
