Fred Andersson’s review published on Letterboxd:
The new Suspiria was an emotionally difficult ride and I feel drained afterwards, but it’s a very positive feeling.
Nice to see such a big prestige project daring to be abstract and ambiguous, and not doing the expected thing with a remake: make it lighter and more commercial.
Suspiria is a strange, arty film and it’s not ashamed of it. It’s not here to please the fans of the original and neither made to catch newer, younger fans. I’m very grateful for that.
It didn’t make me feel comfortable and that’s one reason it works so good for me.
