Bone Tomahawk

Bone Tomahawk ★★★★★

I feel like this gives me a bit more respect for Brawl in Cell Block 99. I can see how Zahler's working here. I like it. Hell... I love it. Bone Tomahawk is gripping. It's meticulous and deliberate, carefully building up a hell of a film with a gut-wrenching (literally) last act. I was taken by surprise on several occasions and the film did not end the way I thought it was going to. Which is a good thing, depending on your expectations.

I've been purposefully vague throughout, because I wholeheartedly recommend you see this movie for yourself. It's gritty, gripping, and masterfully made. Why aren't there more horror-westerns?
I know five whopping stars seems like a lot, but there's honestly not a single thing I'd change about this movie. To me, it was a perfect experience. Loved every minute of it, and now I need to buy it. Stat.
