The Apartment is such a likable film, I think, because of its ability to, on the one hand, all its character so down-to-earth and make so much of the situations relatable, and on the other, embody cinema's occasional desire to be larger than life, with its typical Wilder dialogue. I mean, I'm starting to think that is my favourite Wilder film. It's just so good.
