Incredibly hypnotic and beautiful and really rather haunting. I found myself reading the plot summary on wikipedia after finishing, as I had done with Red, feeling that perhaps I had missed something, but I hadn't really, Kieslowski is just a director that prefers to leaves you inquisitive and ponderous rather than satisfied. Definitely need to read some analyses but what a gorgeous cinematic diptych this is. Can definitely see meta elements with Kieslowksi's Polish/French dualism, especially with this being his first film partly produced outside of Poland.
