Watched this a lot when I was a kid so there is probably just a lot of nostalgia at play here, but honestly I feel like this is a genuinely good movie devoid of my personal bias to this film and Kevin James. It’s funny and actually kind of moving, and I found myself invested in every subplot going on here. Maybe I’m crazy, but I feel like we all need to collectively re-evaluate this one.
Embarrassed to say this, but this is actually my first Godard. I’ve started multiple of his films and always got bored pretty quick so I just switched to other things but finally decided to actually complete one since this is leaving the Criterion Channel at the end of the month. Anyway, I really enjoyed parts of this but just found a lot of it largely uninteresting. Can’t point out a specific reason why — everyone here is doing great work…
