  When I was 13 I got cornered outside school by a boy. He called me slurs and then raised his fist. Then a woman appeared and grabbed the boys wrist. She twisted it and spat in his face, kicking him in the throat. “Leave this faggot alone” she said. That woman was Jennifer Check.
