Dark Shark is the new April Margera

  • Men

Finally, a movie that dared to say:

Not all men... just Rory Kinnear.

  • City of the Living Dead

    City of the Living Dead

Plenty of insanely cool gross out gore (and creepy crawly!) effects to be found here, but not enough to keep the bare bones plot and surface level characters from making me one sleepy boy.

  • The Funhouse

    The Funhouse

Dare I say... better than The Texas Chainsaw Massacre?

This is a weird one. It takes more than half the film to get to the advertised kills and thrills, but somehow that first half of just hanging out at a grimy carnival is the better part of the movie! The promised horror stuff is good too, especially the funhouse setting, but it's never anything spectacular. Once the blood does start flowing it all technically happens very quick, and yet it…

    This thing oozes creative liberation

  • Creep

A certified "even better on rewatch". Such a simple but effective balance of humor, horror and extremely entertaining performances/dialogue. There's something so special about movies like this that are just concise thrill rides and don't necesarilly need to be anything more.

  • Moon Knight

    Moon Knight

Pretty messy, and never as out there as it could be, but the interesting character work really carries the weight.

"The Who?" is what I ask when someone says "Franz Lizst" or "Richard Wagner".
Because I'm uncultured and I don't know who they are.

Anyway this had some amazing visuals, sets and general production design. But it was just kind of beyond me and not my thing. I don't know how else to describe it. I would call it nonsensical but other people seem to get it. So I guess it's kind of like how Shakespeare is beyond me (again, uncultured) but you know, a lot stupider.

  • Sicario

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

I enjoyed watching Benicio del Toro be a real bastard

  • Boogie Nights

    Boogie Nights

The most cast of all casts. And the cream of the crop was Alfred Molina 😍

  • Brigadoon

Those detailed sound stage sets and gorgeous matte painting backdrops... as kinda boring as the movie itself is I could look at that colorful cinemascope eyecandy for hours. And I did! Two of them to be exact!

  • Within the Woods

    Within the Woods

The VHS rip I watched is so poor quality that it was like looking through the bottom of a beer bottle that had been used as an ashtray to watch someone's memory of the film. Even so, this was super impressive and effectively creepy for its budget and resources. It really does give a great preview of the product they were selling, so much of The Evil Dead DNA is already here in full force. Surprisingly there's also a certain…
