I can say this was compact compared to other superhero movies...?
I'm a huge fan of MCU or DCEUs (or maybe just a hipster movie lover, cuz I haven't read any of their comics so far), but I've also been getting tired of memorizing relations of each hero, term meanings, or sorting out the situation every time that franchises publish a new film/hero.
I could watch Venom with kinda fresh feelings because this was not related to any universes, and wow! the storyline wasn't serious at all. I felt like this was made earlier than Nolan trilogy, which was the era that most superhero movies were filled with too much VFX and messy plots. For me, this was quite satisfying. I hope the sequels would go the same way and be simple.
