The ending (which is seriously coasting on Craven's People Under the Stairs) is ridiculous. And not the right kind, like that hilarious Teddy Ruxpin knockoff (which will no doubt have me smiling for the next few days). Before that, it was on fire - though it had at least 2 twists too many, to the point where you have to question how a half dozen adults won't just look in the freaking cupboard... take them 10 seconds; no work required! - with strong performances, a smart story, attention grabbing dialogue, and lots of fun yet subdued mayhem. It just teeters too much. And is a pinch longer than it needs to be.
