Alan Cerny’s review published on Letterboxd:
EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE: This movie is why I go to movies. You have never seen anything like it. It’s one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. It is pure cinema magic. You’re going to call this hyperbolic, but I don’t care. This thing owns my soul.
I like that the Marvel multiverse stuff is prevalent right now because it’s a good entry point for #EverythingEverywhereAllatOnce but it has so much more to say beyond that. This thing’s dense but it backs that up with emotional catharsis. Michelle Yeoh was born to play this.
If you need shorthand, take a bit of THE MATRIX, sprinkle in some Rick and Morty, IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE, Wong Kar Wai (!), the animation of Chuck Jones, and some Shawscope, put in a blender, and enjoy. I’m going to see this again very soon. Mothers take your daughters.
