Slight misanthrope who watches way too many movies.
Turns out I had only seen bits of this on cable, because I didn't remember 90% of it. Interesting that I watched this while the 1/6 committee is hearing testimony, as the film ends with Ryan sitting before a Senate sub-committee presumably about to tell everything that has gone on throughout the story. And it fades out just as he's sitting down, which is funny because we don't see those who've committed crimes receive punishment, which is exactly what's likely to happen in real life, too.
Sorry, these past weeks have left me a little bitter.
Solid flick; great casting.
"Twenty years in Gotham...we know what promises are worth."
In the realm of superhero films, it is just good, not great. In the greater realm of action films, it ranks lower, the murk and bombast diluting any possible fun to be had from such fantasies. But the grimmer universe does make me curious about how other DC films will play out.
