Peter Ericson’s review published on Letterboxd :
This is a realistic and brutal movie. The picture is great with its dirty look, providing the perfect atmosphere for this movie, and the characters are portrayed with humanity and respect regardless of their nature.
I tend to enjoy movies which feature unusual narrative styles, so the style of overlapping storylines in this movie suited me well; if nothing else does, the style should sustain the interest throughout the movie as one wonders who those characters are, what they are doing, and how they fit into the story. One thing that impressed me was the car crash that plays an important role in the movie: it looks very real.
"Amores Perros" is intense and realistic, and it has a great story, interesting narration, and excellent acting.
