Peter Ericson’s review published on Letterboxd :
This afternoon I saw "Black Hawk Down". It was a VCR recording from a while back when the movie was broadcast on TV. I may see the DVD edition of this movie sometime for a much better sound experience; I don’t doubt watching this movie with surround sound will greatly enhance the experience of the movie as a whole.
I usually do not watch war movies, but I have to say that "Black Hawk Down" was definitely one of the best movies in that category that I have seen (not very many). It is (or at least appears to be) very realistic and has an important emotional aspect, allowing the viewer to be more or less in a war with all that means. It is refreshing with a movie that does not try to glorify war but instead lets you experience it from the inside and form your own opinion about it.
