Peter Ericson’s review published on Letterboxd :
Delightfully creepy and sometimes funny animated film, appropriately set around Halloween. Natural interaction and chemistry between the three young main characters. The monster house is truly menacing, wonderfully realized, and, unsurprisingly, the most memorable character in the movie. Quite exciting and intense final confrontation, which ends on a somewhat sad note. Excellent and highly atmospheric sound effects, accompanied by a very good soundtrack. Steve Buscemi is the perfect choice for the voice of Nebbercracker; all the other cast members are also well chosen. Directed by Gil Kenan. There are a few worthwhile extra scenes intercut with the first part of the end credits, and there is a recognizable sound clip at the very end.
