Peter Ericson’s review published on Letterboxd :
This movie, featuring the always great Robin Williams in a serious role, is thought-provoking. The movie’s cutters gain power from the recorded material that they go through (knowledge is power, you know), and I cannot imagine the things the cutters have to watch as part of their job.
"The Final Cut" resonated with me because of my interest in privacy issues, but I think the movie could have been much better. The movie has a lot of potential, but unfortunately much of it goes untapped. Just think of the implications and consequences of a technology such as the movie’s Zoe chip—these are secondary in this movie, but I am certain it would have benefited from their being the focus of the story and more thoroughly explored.
