the first 40 minutes of this are fucking amazing and if they'd somehow maintained that level of danger and excitement and sexiness, i'd give this five stars, easy. then there's like two hours of plodding ploddingtons, plodding about in a sombre manner. and the final action sequence isn't as good as any of the opening ones. i feel like the movie is just SO frontloaded so they could make some kickass imax trailers without 'spoiling' anything. how is the villain in so little of the movie? i needed way more of him! how does he have infinite money?? did he have shares in paypal?? if the answer is contained in the movie, it is poorly conveyed at best.
the title is a lie!!! i'm glad they let bond die. it's satisfying and important. i will always contend not letting batman die in dark knight rises was the biggest mistake of that trilogy.
ana de armas should be the new 007, no question.
