I'm surprised looking at the tremendous praise this film has gotten now that I've seen it. I will admit that I watched this one on a phone due to circumstances but still, the whole thing seemed pretty unoriginal and unimpressive compared to what it was mimicking. The fighting was alright but clearly inferior in my opinion to it's competition such as Crouching Tiger. And my biggest gripe has to be how it falls short of an epic. The story seemed to be attempting to achieve a grand scope with a universal message but what I saw was a sort of wishy-washy fable with no real grounding in sympathetic characters.
