Hulla ★★★★½

an apartment dispute slyly becomes a city's secret history, of money and migration and displacement and exploitation.

you're moving to virar, that's in gujarat, right?

the shift of empathy from expected hero to rest of the cast happens so slowly that you barely register it; the last ten minutes, a series of looks between the nominal major character and then a final look from the secret protagonist (against indian ocean's best music) says everything. can't believe this isn't a cult classic yet.
