Kushi ★★★½

love that this is a grand romantic epic about two young kids that pretty much really like each other and almost mess up their relationship for dumb reasons and are just too proud to say sorry, and that this is more or less the entire plot. director sj suryah and cinematographer jeeva really know how to make the most of that odd, harsh color temperature prevalent in tamil films around this time; it sounds odd to say but the quality of the light and color is almost a reason to watch this film in and of itself. and the climax (jo and vijay writing their letters, running to each others train) is some kind of classic of romantic melodrama writing.
