Nautanki Saala ★★★★½

superior adaptation of apres vous - suffers from having no actress as strong as the great sandrine kiberlain but the shift to ramayana/theater context gives the film a strange and sometimes unsettling affect; there is a specific cut near mid-point that manifests the ram/raavan theme in a very unsettling way that has stuck with me for a long while after seeing this.

really like rohan sippy on purely plastic level - think it's underrated how many of the gags here are deeply stupid but become elegant through motion and rhythm and framing, everything revolving around the flower thing especially.
