RX 100 ★★

happy as anyone to see a mid/low budget film make a commercial impact in the telugu film industry, which desperately needs a challenge from younger directors working outside the current star system. but what's good here - a great eye for casting and location, terrific action, and a feel for a kind of heightened rural drama that borders on realism and total melodrama - crumbles as the promising first section is beset by a swarm of dramatic issues that are damningly tangled up by the film's unexamined misogyny.
