Vakratunda Swaha ★★★★

ashish avikunthunak takes an old piece of footage - an old friend, who would kill himself just a year after it was shot, immerses ganesha idol on last day of ganpati festival - and creates a film around it, circling through the images and motifs of his own short film work of the last decade; the lasting impression is exorcism, attempt to remove an image or set of images that has continued to haunt for decade and in the process contextualize a number of other images very dear to filmmakers heart.

definitely think his shorts from this decade a very undervalued body of work.
