The Muppets still holds up as one of the best legacy soft reboots of a franchise, because the filmmakers (big props to Jason Segal) knew exactly how to bring these characters to the modern age. Namely, don't change a thing because The Muppets are always accessible for any demographic.
The script is hilarious, the puppetry impeccable, the Cars 2 advertisement outrageous, and the songs instantly memorable. It would be easy to mess up The Muppets, both as characters and as a concept (see the sequel, Muppets Most Wanted), but everything is treated just as it should be, and makes for a fantastic movie I rewatch and quote frequently.
