i just love film man
this is definitely the most “what the fuck” of these Rebuilds, jettisoning a lot of the original narrative in favor of beguiling new lore and revamped character dynamics. the isolation Shinji feels in this is somehow more overpowering than what he experienced in the original series. i can’t believe this ended and fans had to wait 12 years to see what happens next.
This one came out of fucking nowhere.
Bolstered by truly gorgeous cinematography, a clever and heartbreaking script, two phenomenal lead performances, and a magnetic soundtrack - Comet is easily one of my favorite films of the year. I'd daresay I'm going to be one of the few to feel that way honestly, but something about this film latched itself onto me and I can't quite shake it off.
And that Emmy Rossum is fucking beautiful huh?
