I'll be taking this opportunity to fully come out as a Marvel fanboy. Sure, there were times in the early 2010's when I doubted the MCU, films like Iron Man 2 and Thor: The Dark World were very weak. But I feel like at this point the MCU has come full circle. Avengers: Infinity War is thus far the peak of MCU filmmaking, and I think it is a truly beautifully constructed fantasy film.
I don't feel this way often, but I feel this film has truly gone places in spectacle blockbuster filmmaking that no other film has gone before. It is at once a visceral action film, and a Magnolia-esque tapestry satisfying on deep emotional levels to those invested in the mythology of the MCU. Thanos is such a wonderfully three dimensional character, and Josh Brolin does an amazing job breathing life into him. I think all the actors did a wonderful job with their characters, and needless to say, I cannot wait for the conclusion to this that Avengers 4 will bring.
