Zach Milne’s review published on Letterboxd:
I think there were more positives than negatives to this movie.
What really hurt it for me, was how long it was. Nearly two and a half hours. Way too long for this movie.
I like David Bautista but I feel like no matter what, his characters always need to wear an ascot or scarf or something around their neck to help them look hip. And he always looks like he is squinting to see something.
Does Zack Snyder like starting movies with flashbacks or slow motion scenes all the time? It feels like it.
It felt like the movie had so much missed potential.
• Didn't use the Vegas setting to their advantage
• Didn't do enough with the Alpha zombie
I thought that it looked really cool in a lot of places but the majority of the time the computer effects looked b movie grade.
I don't know, maybe multiple viewings will be required to get a good sense of the movie.
