A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors ★★★★

In a nutshell:
😴❌🚬😳

* Film debut of Patricia Arquette (a star in the making), + you a young ‘Larry’ Fishburne (aka Morpheus!), Craig Wasson (Body Double (1984)), Robert Englund on the top of his Kruger game, & I don’t think I’ll ever forget Stacey Alden as nurse Marcie (😍!). Great cast bar one (see ✂️) 🎭
* Chuck Russell (he of The Mask (1994), Eraser (1996), & The Scorpion King (2002) fame), does a brilliant job! Dreamlike, atmospheric, & in keeping with Cravens style from the 1984 original 🎥👏
* David Lynch’s right hand musical man Angelo Badalamenti (composer of Twin Peaks (1990-2017) & many more), provides the score. Effective & a kin to the franchise, spot on 🎵
* First writing credit for Oscar-nominated Writer & Director Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption (1994)/The Mist (2007) etc), + alongside seasoned Horror legend Wes Craven it’s no surprise that (imo) this is the best of the series! Surpassing the setup of the original, & delivering a Lost Boys (1987) esc Kids v.s. Freddie extravaganza! Great performances/practical effects/story, it’s an all rounder! 📝
* Possibly gets slightly too kidy towards the end, though I do love how their individuality is their greatest strengths in their fight for survival... pro & a con really. Another pro/con - (ironically) the weakest link of the cast is OG (Nancy Thomas herself) Heather Langenkamp, it’s great she’s back from the original, but can she act?! ✂️
* While not technically a kids film... I totally condone kids watching this & having the bejesus scared out of them! 😂 I wish I had seen this sooner, this being my third viewing & it only gets better ★★★★
