"We can't be direct, so we end up saying the weirdest things."
My Dinner with Andre is a bit of a bleak viewing. Despite featuring two terrific and meticulous performances and a passionate, interesting discourse that delves into any number of interesting and gripping philosophical ideas, I would in no way blame you for becoming a bit checked out by a work like this. The form screams pretentious and is probably extremely inaccessible to people of differing cultural backgrounds but there is a lot to like about something as intimate and self-assured as this. It is worth your time but you could well find yourself feeling every single second of said time.
