Violent Saturday ★★★½

The economy of a small Arizona town is dependent on the near-by open pit copper mine. Unbeknownst to them, the lives of some of the residents of the town are soon to disrupted by the robbery of the local bank. Mine boss Victor Mature, mine executive Richard Egan and his wife Margaret Hayes, bank manager Tommy Noonan, and local farmer Ernest Borgnine are among the residents whose lives are threatened by robbers Stephen McNally, Lee Marvin, and J. Carrol Naish.

The film builds the background of the personalities and lives of the townspeople and the personalities of the robbers and throws them together violently in the robbery and its aftermath. Cinemascope presentation of soap opera meets heist movie, worth watching.
