    Okay, so hear me out.

I know that a 5 star rating here is the epitome of over hyped fan service. But let me tell you, this movie is the embodiment of fan service and that is what makes it so great. No movie has better leveraged the love the fans have for the franchise into a story that is this original and emotionally satisfying. This is the culmination of two decades of representing the mythology of Spiderman on the…

Wow. I was not expecting this experience.

The first 45 minutes were exactly what I expected from this movie (and they were absolutely perfect). A minimalist take on grief, pain, loss, and the passage of time. Exquisitely shot with some of the best long takes I've ever seen. The one in the morgue just took my breath away.

The next 45 minutes are where this movie takes a creative turn that I was not expecting and it absolutely blew me…

A visual, emotional, and (apparently) timeless masterpiece.

It's perfectly produced with sharp editing and iconic cinematography. This film has such a transcendent soul to it that any technical prowess just feels like an innate extension of the message. I don't mean to dismiss the technical greatness, just to say that they both feed into each other in perfect symbiosis.

And that ending. The ending is a jolt, but it's not unearned and it's not played just for shock value. Like everything else here, it works because it's true.

It may be simple and nostalgiac, but it looks cool and feels fresh. That is to say, mint.

Another classic off my list of shame. And a classic in every since of the word! I had so much fun with this one. The narration is perfect in setting the tone, the dialogue as cool and snappy as ever, and the performances are peak.

The themes are masterfully conveyed here and the craft of storytelling marvelously presents a story about storytelling. The ageing and fading of a star is the quintessential Hollywood tale. The symbolism of the old car…

Superb recommendation! I find it difficult to write about movies as notable as this. What is left to say? Speaking from my perspective, I have always been drawn to films that explore the nagging paranoia that comes from a crime perfectly committed. I love this portrayal particularly because the narration that comes with it comes from a more resigned place, generating a perfect tension between what we see and what we hear.

This is such a classic Hollywood tale. Complete…
