Eighth Grade ★★★★½

Eighth Grade is absolutely astounding. I was blown away by the level of authenticity that was brought to the movie. Bo Burnham perfectly captures the awkwardness of being in middle school. It's cringe-inducing, heartbreaking, hilarious, and incredibly profound all at the same time.

Elsie Fisher is an absolute rock star. She plays Kayla with such honesty and brings so much complexity to the role that it's totally worthy of awards consideration. I cannot wait to see her career take off from this.

I truly hope Bo Burnham has more stories to tell and does more filmmaking. Eighth Grade is one of the strongest directorial debuts I've ever seen.
