Matt Hurt’s review published on Letterboxd :
Masterminds was a pretty disposable movie, if I'm being honest. Some of the comedy as solid enough to get a chuckle out of me. But I'll be damned if I can remember any noteworthy comedic beats as I write this and I finished the movie about 20 minutes ago. Which I think is about as much information as you could need about my feelings toward the movie. Decent in the moment, completely forgettable after. Disposable.
Also, if you watch the doc Evil Genius on Netflix prior to watching this movie it may sour the experience. The two aren't connected in anyway, but the stories share similarities. Watching this soon-ish after watching a serious documentary about similar situations and people may have had a negative effect on my viewing experience.
