This was my first time watching Meatballs and I thought it was just okay. As a vehicle for Bill Murray, it works really well as he really shines in it. But the lack of any real narrative throughline turned me off from the movie pretty early in the runtime and it never recovered for me.
Don't get me wrong. There are some entertaining and fun gags sprinkled throughout the movie and the child actors are all solid. However, I just wasn't as taken with the movie as I expected given how well liked it is.
