There's so much to love about this movie. It's incredible. Anthony Perkins' performance is out of this world and chilling to boot. The nervous and uncomfortable nuances he brings to his delivery in almost every scene is masterful.
When Norman is backed against a corner, specifically when he's being questioned by Sam, you can feel Perkins alternating between being a nervous introvert and a dangerous threat. It seems so fluid and natural that when the movie unleashes him, it's terrifying.
The shower scene is iconic and holds up wonderfully. The way the narrative shifts from Marion's story to Sam, Lyla, and Arboghast is so impressive in that the plot doesn't skip a beat and the pacing is pitch perfect.
