Matt Hurt’s review published on Letterboxd:
There's quite a bit to like about Queen & Slim, particularly as it pertains to the relationship between the two. Daniel Kaluuya & Jodie Turner-Smith have strong chemistry. Kaluuya really shines in moments where Slim is racked with guilt. There's an exchange between them late in the film that destroyed me a bit.
The script leaves a bit to be desired. I appreciate how isolated the couple is from the the public reaction to them (and even the manhunt itself). But it reaches a point where some of the tension and plot develops feel a bit labored.
See it for the chemistry and charisma of Kaluuya and Turner-Smith.
