    Green Room

I almost passed out near the beginning of this film. My own fault, I didn’t check the gore description on IMDB. It deserves a higher rating, but I can’t give one since I spent much of it with my head upside down. Tends to piss me off. ;)

  • Waterworld

Somewhat incomprehensible and misogynistic. Kevin Costner’s ego is the star.

  • The Apollo

    The Apollo

    First thoughts after watching:
It was beautiful and disturbing and inspiring and amazing. I did want it to be better than it was as a film, which is why I reluctantly took off half a star. Still, absolutely essential.

    Mark Hamill. Enough said.

  • Lady Bird

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Anyone with a difficult mother relationship or abandonment issues, beware. Meaning that you should absolutely watch this film, but be prepared for the fetal position crying.

    From IMDB:

Sister Sarah Joan: You clearly love Sacramento.

Christine 'Lady Bird' McPherson: I do?

Sister Sarah Joan: You write about Sacramento so affectionately and with such care.

Christine 'Lady Bird' McPherson: I was just describing it.

Sister Sarah Joan: Well it comes across as love.

Christine 'Lady Bird' McPherson: Sure, I guess I pay attention.

Sister Sarah Joan: Don't you think maybe they are the same thing? Love and attention?

I was incredibly tired when I saw this so I can't review it properly. But Brie Larson was good, and she's a badass in real life. That counts.

  • Avengers: Endgame

    Avengers: Endgame

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

I'm not an action movie person, much less a superhero movie person. So what can I say? My partner got me into the MCU. (He tried with DC too, but that didn't work so much.) At first I watched them because I love him. Now I love them too. Endgame has shortcomings, many of them, but I loved it. And of course I cried. (A lot.) (Ok, really a lot.)

  • Rocketman

Taron Egerton was fantastic. The tone was a little strange at the beginning, but maybe I'm just not used to movie musicals (although I love them). I am extra glad I was able to see Elton John in March on his final tour.

    John Wick: Chapter 2

If you like spattering blood, this is for you.

  • Underworld: Blood Wars

    Underworld: Blood Wars

Possibly the worst film I've ever seen.
