Scratches a few of my cinematic fetishes, most notably with the meta approach, and the fake "one shot" throughout. That along with the general lighthearted mood gave me similar vibes to One Cut of the Dead. The other association I had was that this plays out a bit like something that Dan Harmon would write in an episode of Rick & Morty (speaking of... particularly the bit when the "time cops" show up, felt like déja-vu). From the initial time "travel" concept, albeit on a lighter scale, and then turning that into more of a formal exercise, really just having fun with its structure. I can imagine it must have been a pain to keep everything consistent, so any reservations I had (mostly re: story and main "romance") really feel irrelevant.
