It took me two watches to warm up to this lol, but I fully loved this movie. When I first watched it I was very affronted for some reason - I remember thinking “come on man I already know how she died, I didn’t have to see this!!” But LMAO I watched it again and totally loved it. I watched this literally the day after I finished Twin Peaks so I think that probably had something to do with it;…

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

This was the greatest TV pilot I’ve ever seen in my life. 90 minutes flew by so quickly because this was such a joy to watch!! The opening scene pulled me in and I was hooked instantly. Like it’s impossible to see Pete discovering Laura’s body and NOT want to find out who killed her!! The clear standout for me in the pilot is easily Grace Zabriskie. Her performance cuts right through the surreal atmosphere of Twin Peaks and feels…

I forgot that I watched this movie a while back while I was doing a little project on it for a class lol. I love it so much!!! Cannot express how impressed I am by Christoph Waltz’s performance every single time. And Jamie Foxx too!! Their characters are some of the most wonderfully human to come from Tarantino and it’s a delight to watch their relationship progress. Also Tarantino NEVER MISSES with the soundtrack!! Beautiful selections king!!

I’m obsessed with this movie. It was the first Tarantino film I ever watched and it’ll always be perfection in my eyes. It grabs your attention instantly and holds it for the entire runtime!! If I can be candid - I’m in love with the entire cast of this movie. I can’t even name a standout because they’re all so damn good!! (Okay maybe I can and it’s Steve Buscemi.) This is always gonna be one of my favorites and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it. It’s perfect entertainment!!

I dare say this might be Quentin Tarantino’s masterpiece. It’s touching, sensitive, and thrilling all at once, and it’s so much fun to watch!! While I was watching I could really feel how much Tarantino loves Jackie as a character, and Pam Grier did an amazing job bringing her to life. Robert Forster is perfectly sweet, and the king Samuel L Jackson is wonderfully evil. His character is probably the one that I paid the most attention to this time…

I loved this a lot. I’m not quite sure what to say about it, but Max Von Sydow was incredible. The final shot was magic!! (I had to write a paper about this movie and it was actually a lot of fun!)

I got really bad at logging movies here lmao. Well I watched Reservoir Dogs with my brother who was seeing it for the first time! It was even better than I remembered (I haven’t seen it since I first watched it in 2016 lmao) and Steve Buscemi was perfection obviously. This movie is actually the reason why I love him unconditionally, so I’ll always owe QT for that. The soundtrack is delightful too - it and the movie are all-time favorites!!

I really enjoyed this one. The performances from the two leads are really compelling, and their relationship is the one thing that keeps this movie from being completely bleak and depressing lmao. The movie flows really well and, true to its genre, it’s very realistic! I’m really glad I finally watched this!

I completely fell in love with this movie. The ballet sequence is mesmerizing, and Anton Walbrook’s performance is completely perfect. He’s cold and unfeeling, but he makes it clear that there’s a muted passion and jealousy lying just below his exterior. Moira Shearer is sweet and magnetic on screen, and she brings much of the love and charm to her relationship in the second half of the movie. I can’t believe this is her acting debut man! It’s insane. This movie is overflowing with beauty and love in every shot and it totally sucked me in. Cannot describe how much I adored this!!

Joan of Arc is a figure that I've known of vaguely for a long time. Watching this movie transformed her from a sort of blurry historical figure in my mind into a fully fleshed, beautiful, tragic woman. Renee Falconetti does an amazing job with the part - her wide-eyed stare almost right into the camera as she responds to each question is unforgettable. The movie has its moments of horror, but mostly it's a complete tragedy. It almost feels like…

This was a fascinating movie and it deserves a lot of credit when reflecting on film history, but.. it's just boring lol. There are a few standout sequences - I think everyone agrees the best one is when Vertov reverses footage of a bull being taken apart in order to "bring it back to life." I honestly knew next to nothing about the idea of the Soviet Montage theory before hearing about this movie and well, now I know!
