Ollie Cochran’s review published on Letterboxd:
70mm in London was one of the best cinema experiences of myself. Dad was convinced we were watching some extended cut, but by the time we got to the stargate sequence I was so captivated I didn’t even realise that it was in fact exactly the usual runtime - this was good though: we could take the earlier train! Having an interval after the shot of HAL looking into the pod at their lips is still one of the greatest cliffhangers, and only accentuated by the 15 minute break. The ending scene is still as puzzling as ever, but it felt slightly more accessible than my first watch - and the overpowering visuals and audio of the cinema were a monumental sight to behold.
