Ollie Cochran’s review published on Letterboxd:
It's cheesy, yes; but when it's Tobey Maguire delivering the lines, complete with his cheeky grin and goofy personality, it feels a lot less forced. Spider-Man is still a great film and holds up to this day. There are a few moments with shoddy CGI, but it doesn't detract from the experience. Willem Dafoe is great as Green Goblin; staying true to the character from the comics proved successful because his motives were never clouded. Many other cameo performances were great - JK Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson is brilliant to watch and Uncle Ben probably delivers one of the best lines of the trilogy:
"With great power comes great responsibility!"
