Wrath of Man

Wrath of Man ★★★★½

I enjoy Guy Ritchie’s previous work quite a bit - I stand by my praise of Lock Stock, Snatch, and the Gentlemen - but I truly feel he unlocked another gear with this one that’s long been dormant in his filmography.  This is so soaked in sleek LA genre, dog-eat-dog military capitalism, and bloodthirsty spiritual rage that his previous entertainments seem like dalliances by comparison.  This movie’s tough af, a gnarly beast of apocalyptic, kevlar-lined proportions.  It’s a true triple threat of my favorite Ritchie picture, Jason Statham’s best performance, and the greatest film Michael Mann didn’t make.

What can I say?  This movie rocks.
