This film is just gross and insulting overall. I can’t imagine anyone with a functioning brain enjoying this garbage, even ironically. I wanted to turn it off after the first 5-10 minutes. Fifty Shades has nothing on this. This might be one of the worst things I’ve ever seen.
I've been waiting for this movie for over a year and a half since Good Time and it really was well worth the wait. A Lumet-esque New York crime film directed by the Safdie brothers with elements of basketball and hip hop infused in it? I needed this movie in my life. Josh and Benny really are masters of this anxiety-inducing cinema that creates a visual gut punch for the audience and their way of injecting their own background…
