Film Class: Special Topics - Alfred Hitchcock

Just learned that my college is offering me the class Special Topics: Hitchcock for next year (winter, 2017)! *happy dance*

Now, which films shall screen? I have 12 weeks in the quarter and so can plan on 12 films, at most (and then require students to watch 3-4 more of their choice on their own, from a list of options).

I'll need to decide on "Hitchcock essentials," films that in some sense represent his sensibilities and scope of his work.

Suggestions welcome (I'm much weaker, particularly, in my knowledge of his British films), and I'll adjust as I go along, based on your input and my own research, ranking films from most essential to least (though I'll probably screen them in chronological order).
