Dune ★★★★½

I skipped Dune in the COVID-cinemas and waited for the Blu-ray. On a fairly big TV, it looked mighty impressive, so I can only imagine how it was on a theatrical screen.

I won't write much, since it's all been written before. And it's so fresh that I won't spoil anything either. Suffice it to say, this was an epic tale with dazzling visuals and music, and a cast that kept it real. Pretty much perfect. I've talked to people who've seen Dune who had read the book, and those who had not. Those who had not had felt a bit lost at times, yet all agreed it's a beautifully crafted film.

The early scenes on planet Caladan are entrancing and effectively set the stage for what has yet to come. Kudos to the visual effects team, for they somehow succeeded at the task of making the sheer scale of ships and structures (and worms) majestic, realistic and yet not distracting with the CGI work.

Really, really enjoyed this. Excellent! Can't wait to watch it again.
