Gabi’s favorite rom-com, very cute but Meg Ryan woulda figured out what was going on way sooner.
This is such a deceptively evil movie. It tries to hoodwink you by having enough elements of the original film to trick you into thinking “oh yes, I like that, this is good,” but it adds nothing, NOTHING, of value to the story. And the reality is that the average audience member won’t notice and they’ll think they liked it, when in reality what they like is The Lion King (1994).
The only proper way to have done this movie…
Pitt and DiCaprio both give the performances of their careers here. Completely transports you to the time and place with such an acute attention to detail.
I like most Tarantino movies but I’m by no means a Tarantino-bro and I have more than my fair share of conflicting opinions on the guy and his following, but it’s hard not to be won over by his clear love of the cinema. This fucks.
